TUSK FAQ

Most common questions about TUSK

Is TUSK made in China?

No, it's not.

TUSK is made in Spain, one of the countries with the greatest knife-making legacies in the world and a close ally of the United States in NATO operations around the globe.

The Iberian peninsula (current Spain) had been known since pre-Roman times for the high quality of its swords, which related to their manufacture, design, and ergonomics.

From models such as the Iberian Falcata (a short sword), or the Gladius Hispanensis, a Roman short sword used by the Carthaginian and Roman troops from the 3rd Century B.C. to the Toledan steel, swords were known as the best during the Middle Ages and the Spanish Empire.

The tradition of high quality knives continues today, specially in the city of Albacete.

What does the name TUSK stand for?

T.U.S.K stands for The Universal Survival Knife. This name is chosen because we tried to make the only knife that you would need in a survival situation. A knife that could fit the greatest number of people in the greatest number of scenarios.

How can I prevent rust on my TUSK?

TUSK is made of 440c high-grade stainless steel. Stainless steel is very corrosion resistant to rust but not completely resistant to rust. Corrosion can occur in the absence of proper maintenance. Your TUSK should be kept clean and dry to inhibit rust and corrosion; this is especially true in a damp or marine environment. If your TUSK comes into contact with saltwater you must flush it with tap water after use and coat it with a good quality lightweight oil. Salt water is extremely corrosive and will attack and destroy any type of steel. After cleaning, re-oil your TUSK with a good gun oil or 3-in-1 oil.
